Sağlık Bakanlığı’na göre Türkiye’de 20 yaş üstü her 7 kişiden biri, dünyada ise 382 milyon kişi diyabet hastası. Dünya genelindeki diyabetli hasta sayısının şişmanlık ve hareketsiz yaşam nedeniyle 2035 yılında 592 milyona ulaşması bekleniyor.
TÜRKİYE İLK 10 ARASINDA
Türkiye, International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Altıncı Diyabet Atlası verilerine göre 2035 yılında diyabetin dünyada en yüksek olacağı ilk 10 ülke arasına girecek. Dünyada en az artışın yüzde 22.4 ile Avrupa’da, en fazla artışın ise yüzde 109.1 ile Afrika’da olacağı tahmin ediliyor. Türkiye’de 2008-2012 yılları arasında diyabetli kişi sayısı 2 milyon 514 bin 842 kişiden 5 milyon 217 bin 709 kişiye ulaştı. Türkiye’de yaş grupları açısından en büyük grubu yüzde 52 ile 46-54 yaş arası hastalar oluşturuyor.
Aşırı susama ve yorgunluk
Sık idrara çıkma, aşırı susama, yorgunluk, kilo kaybı, bulanık görme, tekrarlayan enfeksiyonlar ve yaralarda geç iyileşme diyabetin belirtileri arasında yer alır. Diyabet zaman içinde özellikle kalp, kan damarları, sinir sistemi, böbrek ve gözleri etkiler. Hastaların yüzde 50’si kalp hastalığı ve inme nedeniyle ölür. Azalmış kan akımı ile birlikte ayaklarda sinir hasarı, ayak ülserleri, enfeksiyon nedeniyle ampütasyon (kol veya bacağın kesilmesi) gelişebilir. Diyabetin en önemli komplikasyonlarından diyabetik ayak ülserinin tedavisinde Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu (SGK) perspektifinden yıllık ortalama hasta başı maliyeti 14 bin dolar olarak tespit edildi.”
